Грудные импланты спасли женщину от смертельного выстрела

Женщина из Канады выжила после потенциально смертельного выстрела в грудь благодаря тому, что ее грудной имплант остановил пулю.

30-летняя жительница Торонто шла по улицам города, когда внезапно почувствовала резкую боль и заметила кровь с левой стороны туловища в области груди. Обследование в больнице показало, что в нее был произведен выстрел из огнестрельного оружия, в результате которого женщина получила ранение в левую грудь. Однако дальнейший осмотр показал, что пуля вошла в ее правую грудь снизу, прошла через левый имплант и осталась там. Скорость пули была настолько сильной, что заставила правый имплант перевернулся.

В результате ранения правое ребро пострадавшей было сломано и оба импланта пришлось удалить. Но поскольку левый имплант поглотил первоначальный удар от выстрела и располагался над ее сердцем, врачи считают, что женщина была спасена благодаря отклонению пули от силиконовых имплантов.

С момента инцидента в 2018 году стрелок и его оружие не были найдены.

Врачи, которые лечили женщину, были поражены тем, насколько  этот случай редок. В исследовании, опубликованом на прошлой неделе, хирург Джанкарло МакЭвен пришел к выводу, что известно очень мало случаев, когда импланты останавливали пулю. По его словам, в тематической литературе было зафиксировано более четырех подобных случаев.

"В нашем отчете представлен пятый и третий доклад, где имплант считается ответственным за спасение жизни пациента. Хотя эти наблюдения редки, они подтверждают гипотезу о том, что грудные импланты действительно могут спасти жизни." - пишет МакЭвен. "В заключение мы сообщаем здесь о случае 30-летней женщины, чья жизнь, вероятно, была спасена благодаря отклонению пули от ее силиконовых имплантов."

МакЭвен рассказал, что женщина полностью выздоровела и ей порекомендовали заменить грудные импланты через шесть месяцев.
